Peda


 Ingredients:
  • 1/2 kg Soft white khoya
  • 2-1/2 cups (approx.300gms) sugar powdered
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp cardamom seeds semi crushed
  • 1 tbsp slivered or crushed pistachios

Recipe:
  1. Grate khoya with a steel (not iron) grater.Add powdered sugar and mix well.
  2. Put mixture in a large heavy or nonstick pan.
  3. Heat first on high for few minutes.
  4. The on slow till done.
  5. Make sure to stir continuously, while on heat.
  6. When mixture thick and gooey, add cardamom.
  7. Mix well, and take off fire.
  8. Allow to cool, gently turning occasionally.
  9. Use cookie molds, or shape pedas with palms into patty rounds.
  10. Mix pistachios and cardamom seeds and press a bit on top of each.
  11. If using molds, first sprinkle some at bottom.
  12. Take some mixture and press into mould.
  13. When set well, invert and carefully, unmould. 
  14. The pedas are ready to be served. 
  15. And enjoy the taste.
